WIAW: Sick Meals

Man I definitely wasn’t expecting to publish this post so late. Unfortunately this head cold of mine has taken over my life at the moment. Between lying on the couch & giving the rest of my energy (very little) to the girls, I almost couldn’t bother writing. Here I am though toughing it out and sharing my sick meals with you.

It’s weird – usually when I’m sick my appetite is still in full force. This time around… not so much. Come dinner time the though of solids made me want to vomit. Good thing I both had protein powder on hand and was craving a smoothie. It took almost zero effort. I did go all fancy on Joshua’s dinner though. Well if you call boxed macaroni & cheese w/ chicken fancy :) Haha! Not every night can be restaurant-like. Tonights dinner will be even easier as Faiza is preparing Pakistani rice for me at this very moment. Woo hoo!! What an amazing person she is :) :) Anyways onto what I ate…

Breakfast: Maple brown sugar oatmeal mixed with peanut butter. I topped my bowl of deliciousness with a very juicy nectarine.

Lunch: Kale & chickpea salad with salsa cashews (my favorite!!) and chopped vegetables

lunch

Dinner: Strawberry protein smoothie with Honey Bunches of Oats cereal

Bedtime Snack: Un-pictured hot chocolate with a peppermint tea bag. Thank you Faiza for sharing this AMAZING idea with me!

Alright folks, it’s time to take my booty to bed while the girls are napping. I’ll see you tomorrow. I have quite the exciting things to share with y’all.

Thanks for hosting WIAW Jenn

Hi everyone! Sorry for going MIA after I shared Jenna & Jailyn’s birthday post. Which by the way, thank you all so much for the comments, tweets & messages. Each one was incredibly sweet and such a pleasure to read.

I honestly had all intentions of popping back in before today but with my parents in town (they’ve since gone back to the States), getting LASIK and celebrating the girls birthday time truly got away from me. Oh & we can’t forget about myself & the twins coming down with an unexpected cold. If it ain’t one thing, it’s another!!

In-between all the craziness I came up with a delicious treat for the holiday season. Even though I was unable to share this recipe before now, it’s one of those treats that work all year round. Those are the best kind, right? Not only did it receive 5 stars from both my parents & friends here in Kuwait, but it consists of just FOUR ingredients. Yes, you read that correctly – FOUR INGREDIENTS!

Happy 1st Birthday Jenna & Jailyn

Trying to put all these emotions I’m feeling today into words isn’t as easy as one would think. Imagining a life without you two girls is unheard of. The two of you have been an amazing blessing from the time you were conceived. I look back to the day Daddy & I found out I was expecting twin girls to the moment you came into this world. It’s everything but a blur. Six hours  of labor & a quick but unforgettable c-section when I saw your two faces is a memory that could  never be forgotten.

together

This year together as a family of four has been amazing, fun, joyful yet tiring and challenging at times. Looking back a year ago It’s hard to believe how advanced you two have become. From  being so helpless to now walking (almost there Jenna) and doing things on your own. It’s simply incredible. When I walk into your nursery every morning and see those bright smiles and hear those cheerful laughs it’s the exact point in my life when I know I’ve succeeded. When I know I’ve hit the jackpot in all areas of life. Your Daddy & I are the luckiest parents in the world.

What I Ate On December 22, 2015

Good morning to you! Today is a pretty exciting day. My parents will be arriving early this evening. Between looking at the girls Cake smash photos with our photographer & cleaning up the house, I don’t have too much time to chit-chat this morning. I did however want do check-in quickly and share my meals from yesterday.

Real quick though – I want to note that although I do strive to inspire others with my meals, that may not always be the case. Somedays my meals will be as simple as eggs whereas other days you could see an actual recipe somewhere on the post. I can guarantee you one thing though – I’m truthful about what I eat. If I happen to miss breakfast (never happens lol), I’ll tell you. I strive and feel like I’ve done a damn good job at making my blog both a motivation to others & a place where you can come to read the truth. I just pray that y’all agree with that statement.

Anyways, onto my meals from yesterday…

Alright ladies (and some gentleman), I need to get my butt in gear. Theres housework (lots) to be done. Keeping my fingers crossed that I’m able to get everything cleaned before my parents arrive. Perhaps I shouldn’t of waited until last minute. Oh well!

  • I’ve been dealing with a constant upset stomach this past week. I’m thinking of cutting out gum. Has anyone had this problem & found not chewing gum helped?
  • Will you be staying home for the holidays or going elsewhere?

Thanks to Jenn for hosting WIAW!
